Objectives
LET: Vehicles, Technology, Off-road & Marine (Round 14) supports investment in a range of innovative technologies and infrastructure to encourage reducing emissions across a range of sectors in New Zealand.
Eligibility
- This funding round is open to all New Zealand-based and New Zealand-registered legal entities, except: Public Service Departments, Non-Public Service Departments (such as the New Zealand Defence Force) and Statutory Crown Entities.
- For clarity, the following types of organisations are eligible to submit Proposals: State-owned Enterprises, Local Councils and Regional Councils.
- Investment will be a maximum 50% of project costs, up to a maximum of $500,000.
- Up to $4 million is available in Round 14.
What kind of project is this for?
This funding round is seeking proposals to demonstrate a range of low-emission technologies, infrastructure, innovations, and business models and low-emission on-road, off-road vehicles, and marine vessels.
This could include projects in the areas of off-road battery electric vehicles and associated technologies or services. This could also include projects in the areas of marine vessels, electric outboard motors, charging infrastructure to service marine projects and associated technologies or services. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and other technologies are potentially in scope if they make use of New Zealand's renewable electricity advantage.
Round 14 focus areas
Projects must demonstrate some of these qualities:
- additionality or innovation in the business case
- significant replication potential
- demonstration of technology in a new location or environment
- representation of end-use in a different sub-sector
- potential for low-emission transport transition in the short, medium, or long term
- significant opportunity for learnings by overcoming barriers in the organisation, sectoral barriers, or regulatory barriers.
Projects must be a minimum of $50,000 in total core project costs to qualify. Learn more in the RFP document.
Recipients will be required to share knowledge, reporting and data with EECA as part of the Funding Agreement which will set out how, when and with whom it will be shared.
