NZ MEPS-compliant products

EECA maintains a list of electric storage water heaters that meet New Zealand Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS). This is based on information provided by the manufacturer/importer.

To comply with the Building Code (Acceptable Solution H1/AS1), the product must meet NZ MEPS (or use an alternative pathway to code compliance).

An electric storage water heater is a hot water cylinder that contains an electric resistive element. This includes both solar and heat pump hot water cylinders unless they meet the exclusion requirements specified in the applicable Standard. More information can be found on the electric storage water heater page.
