The Publicly Available Specification (PAS) provides accurate information on efficient, low-emissions high temperature heat pumps. Many sectors can benefit from high temperature heat pump technology to generate hot water, including residential, commercial and industrial.
This 2021 PAS is based on a review of available heat pump/vapour compression international standards, including the methodology in AS/NZS 4234:2021 Heated water systems – Calculation of energy consumption. This PAS is under review and an updated version will be published in 2024.
In recognition of the variety of use scenarios for high temperature heat pumps, smaller heat pumps suitable for use in applications such as heating in schools are covered along with industrial and commercial heat pump process heat applications.
